Having been built in 1968 for the World’s Fair, the Tower of the Americas is one of San Antonio’s most popular attractions and stands 750 feet tall. It is the tallest free-standing buildings in the United States – even taller than the Seattle Space Needle. Enjoy breathtaking panoramas of downtown San Antonio and beyond, tasty food, and fun for the whole family at Tower of the Americas, situated at Hemisfair Park just a few blocks from the River Walk. Chart House Restaurant

Enjoy their award-winning menu as you marvel at the stunning view of the city. Since 1961, this revolving eatery is famous for its award-winning menu as it is for its magnificent views, outstanding cuisine, and exceptional service. This is a Landry’s restaurant, and the food, service, and experience are top rate. Their aim is for perfection, and as far as a majority of guests are concerned, they attained their goal.  The restaurant revolves once per hour, so you are able to see the same sights in the daylight and then again as the night lights. Their wait staffs are very attentive and professionals. The whole dining room slowly moves so you get a 360-degree view of the city, it’s quite lovely and relaxing.

Gift shop

The expansive gift shop is located at the base of the tower and provides a unique selection of novelty gifts, headwear, and apparel to take home as a souvenir of your trip to the top of the Tower. Also, take a photo in front of a fun background of a local monument and put it in an album along with all the other pictures you took from the top of the tower.

4D films

Various fantastic 4D film experiences are part of the experience when you tour the tower. The interesting Skies Over Texas 4D Theater Ride moves you across the Lone Star State as you watch a short movie in 3-D, followed by astronauts working on a space shuttle at NASA, and more

The stunning grounds surround the Tower of the Americas, with tranquil waterfalls and water features. They also have an elevator ride up to the top is very smooth and comfortable for those who are afraid of heights. The tower stands in a park, one of the several attractive public spaces in San Antonio and can be easily reached via the Riverwalk.
